When does the SCC have banquets?
Seattle Coin Club banquets have traditionally been annual events held in the late winter or early spring, for example in February or March. They usually are scheduled for the same evening as a regular club meeting would take place.
Where does the SCC have banquets?
Seattle Coin Club banquets are held at Seattle-area restaurants, most recently at Angelo’s Restaurant in Burien or at the Mandarin Buffet & Grill, Bellevue/Redmond.
What is the banquet agenda?
In addition to great food and wonderful camaraderie, banquets often include special raffle prizes and cap the evening with a fun White Elephant Auction, which serves as the club’s main fundraiser for the year. In some years, banquets may also feature a guest speaker.

We’ve listed recent banquets below, along with more details for the past couple years. Banquet reports and photos often appear in the club newsletter. Members can access recent newsletters online with a password.
| March 12, 2026 – Instead of our usual March meeting, we came together at Angelo’s Restaurant in Burien (the same location as last year), where we enjoyed great food, wonderful camaraderie, and capped the evening with a fun White Elephant Auction. As our only real fundraiser of the year, it was great to see so many members contribute items, both numismatic pieces and treasures from around the home. Everyone came ready to participate, and there were plenty of irresistible items that made the auction lively and entertaining. Most importantly, it was all for a great cause. In the end, we raised an impressive $1,032 for the club! Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. March 13, 2025 – Instead of our usual March meeting, we came together at Angelo’s Restaurant in Burien, drawing a lively crowd of 25 members and guests. In addition to great Italian cuisine and numismatic fellowship, we held a white elephant auction to raise money for the club treasury. Generous donations from our members included a variety of numismatic and non-numismatic items. Following dinner and dessert, attendees had the opportunity to examine the auction items before the bidding began. Our auctioneer and club president, Rick Schulz, along with his dedicated assistant, board member Dan “The Man” Vornbrock, led the auction with enthusiasm. The bidding was spirited, exciting, and fun, ultimately raising an impressive $881 for our treasury! The memorable evening wrapped up just before 9 p.m., marking another successful club event! Fun fact – There was a total lunar eclipse during the January 20, 2000, SCC banquet, however, due to clouds, only some of the partial phase was visible after the banquet. There will also be an almost total lunar eclipse on the night of Thursday, August 27-28, 2026, at about midnight EDT, during the ANA convention in Pittsburgh.
