Merger

The present-day Seattle Coin Club was formed by the merger of the original Seattle Coin Club, founded in 1936, and the University Coin Club, founded in 1960. See the merger page for more information and photos.

Charter / Objective

Per the Bylaws, Article II, “The objective of the coin club is to promote the study, collection, and appreciation of coins, currency, and related numismatic items; to provide educational opportunities through meetings, education presentations, and discussions; to encourage the exchange of knowledge and resources among members; and to support the preservation and documentation of numismatic history. The club also aims to engage with the wider community through educational outreach, exhibitions, and participation in local events, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of the art, history, and cultural significance of numismatics.”

In doing so, the SCC contributes to the mission of the Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association (PNNA) to “promote, extend, and protect the interests of numismatists and numismatic activities throughout the Pacific Northwest and to foster and encourage the study of numismatics in all its forms.”

What do we do?

In addition to maintaining this website, the SCC publishes a monthly newsletter, has monthly meetings, an annual banquet and promotes numismatics through special programs, activities and awards. SCC members participate in the numismatic display at the Washington State (Puyallup) Fair Hobby Hall each September.
